About The Position

This part-time role, working 20 hours a week, offers a chance to join an organization dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce. The Food Pantry Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of food services, addressing food access and health for people living with HIV. This position is an opportunity to have a meaningful impact in the community and the lives of patients served by Vivent Health. The role involves collaboration on an inter-disciplinary team within an integrated HIV care and prevention model, exposing the employee to whole person-care across medical, behavioral health, pharmaceutical, and research disciplines. The position contributes to the delivery of quality patient care through an integrated HIV care and prevention model proven to help patients achieve positive health outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in coordinating, training, monitoring, and retaining volunteers is required.
  • Experience providing customer service in a service-delivery setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Windows, and databases.
  • Knowledge of Food Services, acquisition, distribution, and/or food bank operations.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite and Windows.
  • Valid Government Issued Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population, and/or an eagerness to learn about this community.
  • Flexibility in response to change, adapting quickly to shifting priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Food Manager Certification.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.
  • HIV experience in a not-for-profit environment.

Responsibilities

  • Train and oversee volunteers to ensure and maintain the smooth, effective, and efficient functioning of the Food Pantry.
  • Assist with daily food distribution, including acquisition, storage, and delivery.
  • Manage inventory and work in conjunction with the Director on the program budget to strive for cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and nutritional value.
  • Implement special projects and fulfill assigned duties by the Director.
  • Enforce policies and procedures for cohesive and multidisciplinary client treatment in department operations.
  • Provide food safety education, recommend good nutritional practices, and connect clients to needed services.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, including but not limited to Confidentiality, Employee Handbook, Health Care Corporate Compliance Plan, Standards of Conduct, training, and other relevant policies.
