About The Position

This role is responsible for assisting clients with the intake process for the food pantry. The Salvation Army's mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Administrative skills include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to detail and filing.
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Must pass all applicable background checks.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside.
  • Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
  • Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors/clients in a friendly manner.
  • Secure necessary client information and enter data into Service Point program.
  • Inventory food orders from Food Bank of the Heartland and order food as needed.
  • Ensure pantry shelves are stocked and the area is neat.
  • Sort and stock personal care items.
  • Supervise pantry volunteers.
  • Run reports for compliancy and statistical information, as directed.
  • Turn in reports monthly for Food Bank of the Heartland, and stats.
  • Attend meetings as directed.
  • Driving is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
