About The Position

Summerhill Market is a Toronto boutique grocer known for scratch-made prepared foods, freshly baked treats, and on-trend ingredients. They are looking for detail-driven, reliable team members who take pride in precision and presentation to join their Commissary Production team as a Food Packager. This role involves accurately portioning and packaging prepared foods, soups, and juices according to company specifications, labeling, dating, and sealing products in compliance with food safety regulations, and ensuring packaging meets quality and presentation standards before distribution. The position requires maintaining production pace while upholding accuracy and consistency, following all HACCP, sanitation, and health & safety procedures, supporting inventory control and proper product rotation (FIFO), keeping workstations clean, organized, and production-ready, and assisting other production areas as required.

Requirements

Previous food production or packaging experience is an asset
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting product as required
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Availability for a consistent 12:00 PM start time

Responsibilities

Accurately portion and package prepared foods, soups, and juices according to company specifications
Label, date, and seal products in compliance with food safety regulations
Ensure packaging meets quality and presentation standards before distribution
Maintain production pace while upholding accuracy and consistency
Follow all HACCP, sanitation, and health & safety procedures
Support inventory control and proper product rotation (FIFO)
Keep workstations clean, organized, and production-ready
Assist other production areas as required based on daily operational needs
