About The Position

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Commissary Kitchen Worker to support our high-volume culinary production team. This role is essential to ensuring smooth daily operations through accurate food preparation, strict sanitation practices, and organized inventory management. The position requires an early morning start (by 4:00 AM) and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, catering, or commissary environment preferred; training available for the right candidate.
  • Strong reliability and punctuality, especially for early morning shifts.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Permit or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
  • Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen measurements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, follow, and scale recipes accurately.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, chop, portion, and prepare fresh ingredients according to recipes and yield standards.
  • Assemble and package grab-and-go items.
  • Accurately package, label, and date prepared foods for distribution.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized workstation throughout the shift.
  • Wash, sanitize, and store pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Properly dispose of trash, compost, and recycling in compliance with health codes.
  • Receive daily deliveries, verify invoices, and inspect products for quality.
  • Rotate stock using FIFO to minimize waste.
  • Conduct routine inventory counts and report low stock levels.
  • Organize walk-in coolers, freezers, and dry storage areas.
