About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. This role involves demonstrating commitment to the company's mission, values, and standards of ethical behavior. The specialist is expected to model a positive and professional image, promote teamwork, and ensure residents are treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, while protecting their rights and property. The position requires compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures, ensuring dietary procedures are followed according to established policies, production sheets, and recipes, including the use of adaptive devices. A key responsibility is serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance, setting up tray cards, food carts, and dining rooms for meal service, and assisting in ensuring meals are prepared and delivered on time and at the proper temperature.

Requirements

Previous dietary experience in acute or long term care environment preferred
Completion of Food Handling training and certification

Sets-up tray cards, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed for meal service.
Assists in ensuring that meals are prepared and delivered on time and at proper temperature.
