About The Position

The Food Nutrition Service Worker supports school food service operations through food preparation and handling, serving, cashiering, cleaning, and receiving and storing food supplies. The position requires following recipes and oral instructions, maintaining sanitation and kitchen safety, and working effectively with school personnel and students. This is a 10-month, non-exempt position.

Requirements

• Sufficient education to develop basic reading, record-keeping, and arithmetic skills.
• Demonstrated aptitude for successfully performing the listed duties and responsibilities.
• Ability to work rapidly and efficiently across a wide range of temperature conditions.
• Ability to follow written recipes and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of sanitation principles and kitchen safety.
• Ability to work effectively with school personnel and students.
• Knowledge of and ability to work with a variety of chemicals and other agents.
• Ability to perform heavy work, including lifting and carrying approximately 30 pounds, while working on hard flooring for prolonged periods.
• High school diploma.
