About The Position

Hopelink is the largest nonprofit in North and East King County, providing stability-building programs for people experiencing poverty, immigrants and refugees, and people with disabilities since 1971. We equip people to exit poverty through comprehensive services, impactful partnerships, and advocacy for equitable opportunities for all. Our programs include food, energy, and financial assistance, housing with case management, mobility management, non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT), Dial-a-Ride Transit (DART), English for work, family development, and financial capabilities. The Food Market Driver operates and unloads a 24’ delivery box truck, making pick-ups and deliveries of food, supplies, and other materials. This role also performs order picking and building at the central warehouse. This is a combination of deliveries and warehouse work for our free food markets serving the greater eastside of Redmond, Kirkland, Bellevue, Carnation, and Shoreline. It's a fun team and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience driving a delivery truck or similar vehicle.
  • At least 5 years of general driving experience.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds regularly.
  • Valid driver’s license with proof of good driving record; proof of current personal automobile liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Pallet jack experience preferred. (training provided)
  • Forklift experience preferred. (training provided)

Responsibilities

  • Operate company delivery vehicles according to safe driving practices and follow all traffic laws.
  • Keep Warehouse clean and organized.
  • Weekly order-building for Hopelink’s five brick and mortar food markets.
  • Assist Warehouse Manager with management of perishable and non-perishable inventory.
  • Assist with monthly and annual inventory reports.
  • Lift up to 60 pounds using safe and effective loading and unloading techniques.
  • Complete necessary paperwork; assure accuracy of invoices.
  • Assure proper maintenance and cleanliness of vehicle. Responsible for fueling each truck.
  • Pick-up and delivery are made via loading docks and/or by use of vehicle lift gate.
  • Operate manual and electric pallet-jacks.
