About The Position

The CityWalk Food Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing the waiting list and seating chart, and ensuring a positive dining experience. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the host area, answering phone calls, and providing excellent guest service. The position also requires upholding safety practices and maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for all guests and team members.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years older
• Valid California Food Handler required before first day

Responsibilities

• Greeting and seating guests using an open table seating system.
• Presenting menus to guests and informing them of daily restaurant specials and promotions.
• Interacting with guests as they arrive and leave to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Managing the waiting list, server seating chart, and table rotation, and quoting accurate wait times.
• Observing tables and keeping track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables.
• Cleaning, organizing, and stocking menus at the host area.
• Pre-bussing tables as needed.
• Completing all opening, running, and closing duties as assigned.
• Maintaining restrooms and keeping glass doors clean throughout the shift.
• Sweeping the foyer and front entrance area frequently.
• Answering the phone and answering questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
• Promoting and providing extraordinary guest service for both internal and external guests.
• Answering questions, offering information, and providing assistance in a courteous manner.
• Understanding and demonstrating the proper use of safety practices.
• Ensuring department standards are maintained and safety policies are upheld.
• Monitoring and maintaining a safe and secure environment for team members and guests of all ages.
• Following all company guidelines and protocols.
• Identifying, de-escalating, and resolving conflicts or disturbances professionally and effectively.
• Providing a positive and welcoming experience for guests of all ages while maintaining composure during difficult interactions.
• Maintaining a high level of trust and integrity to promote a safe, secure, and welcoming environment.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
