About The Position

Calls out and verifies food orders to cooks and pantry in a restaurant specializing in fast service and high volume output. Examines portioning and garnishing of completed food orders, making corrections with kitchen and/or service staff if necessary. Notifies serving personnel or food runner when an order is ready for pickup. May assist in delivering food to tables if no food runner is available. May also prepare and cook foods that can be completed in a short time when applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Calls out and verifies food orders in a restaurant specializing in fast service and high volume output.
  • Removes orders from devices like wheel or nail boards, or ticket strips at the kitchen service counter/service window.
  • Calls out food orders to cooks and pantry staff.
  • Examines portioning and garnishing of completed food orders.
  • Reviews orders for accuracy, double-checks, and makes corrections with kitchen or service staff if necessary.
  • Notifies serving personnel or food runner when an order is ready for pickup from the service window.
  • Assists in delivering food to tables if no food runner is available.
  • May record counts of items, ticket times, and quality control issues, including food presentation, and report daily.
  • May prepare and cook foods that can be completed in a short time.
  • May run food and assist Servers, Bar Staff, Bussers, and Stewarding staff in accordance with business needs and staffing demands.
