About The Position

The Food Distribution Eligibility Specialist determines eligibility for assistance in accordance with Federal and USDA 501 Handbook. This position conducts interviews, verifies documentation, maintains accurate records, and provides exceptional customer service to individuals and families in need.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Three (3) years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficient in Cherokee is highly preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Compassionate and service-oriented
  • Research skills
  • Clerical skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
