About The Position

This role involves preparing and cooking food items according to recipes and quality standards, managing inventory, ensuring food safety and sanitation, and handling customer transactions accurately. The position requires adherence to cost control procedures and accommodating guest requests. The cook cashier will also be responsible for preparing menus and menu boards, maintaining compliance with Title 31, and holding necessary certifications.

Requirements

  • Must be age 18 or older.
  • Must qualify for a Tribal Non-Gaming license.
  • Must be able to perform arithmetic calculations correctly.
  • Must be able to communicate in the primary language used in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and sanitary practices.
  • Must be customer driven and able to reach each guest’s wants and needs and be able to exceed their expectations.
  • Must have the ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with guests and coworkers with a smile.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to four hours.
  • Requires normal vison, including color acuity and depth perceptions, reaching, bending stooping, grasping, finger dexterity, hand/eye coordination and can lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in MICROS POS system preferred.
  • Previous experience in the culinary or food service industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with department rules, policies, maintaining and supporting a safe and encouraging work environment.
  • Rotates stock of food items (FI/FO), monitors inventory of food items, and requests additional items, as necessary.
  • Prevents spoiling and contamination of foods by practicing proper sanitation and complying with health regulations.
  • Prepares on time all food items designated to the assigned station in accordance with standards of quality, quantity of taste and presentation as established by the Director of Food and Beverage.
  • Receives incoming goods, restocks shelves and coolers using a transfer log, removing and disposing of damaged or outdated merchandise appropriately and using a waste log.
  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, quality standards, taste, temperature, and eye appeal.
  • Prepare all menus and menu boards for each business day and the next day and make changes accordingly.
  • Adheres to all cost control procedures.
  • Accommodates guest requests for special food items as available.
  • Effectively rings in all orders and collects payment in the form of cash, credit card, or Prairie Knights club card.
  • Balances cash register tape with cash drawer receipts at the end of each shift, completes appropriate shift report, and deposits receipts according to established procedures.
  • Maintain Title 31 compliance accurately.
  • Maintain Food Handler’s and RBS certificates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
