About The Position

The Assistant Bakery Team Lead helps lead the bakery team and meet department goals while providing superior customer service and product expertise. The role supports the bakery team lead and manages the bakery when that lead is not on duty. It also involves maintaining product quality, freshness, safety, merchandising standards, and adequate stock levels. Applicants must be at least 18 years old; positions serving alcohol require employees to be at least 21.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be at least 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol.
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
Ability to stand, sit, lift and stock up to 50 pounds, push, use a keyboard and telephone, walk, and bend for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Direct bakery department personnel and work toward department goals and objectives.
Manage the bakery when the bakery team lead is not on duty.
Communicate directly with the bakery team lead, store director, and bakery specialist.
Order supplies and products to maintain adequate stock levels.
Merchandise bakery goods according to bakery merchandising standards.
Execute and support sales and merchandising initiatives.
Lead, coach, evaluate performance, and train department team members.
Ensure department and team compliance with health department and weights and measures requirements.
Monitor product pricing, signage, placement, shelf tags, and shelf signage.
Keep the check stand or sales counter and work and production areas clean, neat, and orderly.
Wrap, box, weigh, slice, finish, and stock bakery products, rotating them as needed to maintain quality and safety.
Take customer orders and ensure they are completed on time and to customer satisfaction.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
