About The Position

The Assistant Bakery Team Lead focuses on providing superior customer service and leading a successful bakery team. This person works toward department goals and objectives while offering customers product expertise and fresh, tasty, high-quality bakery products. The role requires a responsible, friendly person who can work safely in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service. The Assistant Bakery Team Lead manages the bakery when the Bakery Team Lead is not on duty and performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age.
Must be 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol.
Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
May be required to stand, sit, lift and stock items up to 50 lbs., push, use a keyboard and telephone, walk, and bend for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Direct bakery department personnel and work toward the department’s goals and objectives.
Manage the bakery when the Bakery Team Lead is not on duty.
Communicate directly with the Bakery Team Lead, Store Director, and Bakery Specialist.
Order supplies and products needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
Merchandise bakery goods according to bakery merchandising standards.
Execute and support sales and merchandising initiatives.
Serve as a department leader, role model, coach, performance evaluator, and trainer for the team.
Ensure department and team compliance with health department and weights and measures requirements.
Monitor product pricing, signage, placement, shelf tags, and shelf signage.
Keep the check stand or sales counter and work production areas clean, neat, and orderly.
Wrap, box, weigh, slice, finish, and stock bakery products, rotating them as needed to ensure quality and safety.
Take customer orders and ensure they are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
