The Food Captain is responsible for ensuring all food operational execution in the store is followed to maximize sales and reduce waste. This role involves training, teaching, and coaching store associates on food execution, production, replenishment, ordering, organization, sanitization, and customer service. The Food Captain will be the go-to person in the store for employees with questions related to food products and services, and will plan and execute food sampling for employees and customers. They will also conduct and lead in-store training for store employees and operation teams on new Foodservice programs, following an established train-the-trainer program, and conduct refresher training activities as needed. Key responsibilities include ensuring foodservice areas are stocked and food is rotated using the FIFO method, displaying food items according to current Planograms, and ordering or assisting in ordering food products to minimize out-of-stocks and improve shrink. The Food Captain will monitor shrink while improving sales to maximize foodservice profit, and collaborate with BUQAS training personnel to ensure training programs are delivered effectively. Adherence to food safety practices and procedures, conducting needs analysis, and operating within budgeted expectations are also crucial aspects of this role.
