About The Position

The Food & Beverage Supervisor at Aloft Austin South is responsible for directing the daily breakfast and lunch operations within the restaurant. This role requires a high degree of flexibility to support occasional mid-to-PM shifts across both Restaurant and Banquet operations based on the cyclical business needs of the hotel. The supervisor ensures seamless service delivery, brand standard compliance, and efficient labor management while overseeing morning and event-specific hospitality teams.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience using CI/TY, OPERA, and Oracle MICROS Simphony (EMC) is required.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate the guest and associate experience.
  • Must possess basic computational ability for managing financial targets and reports.
  • Ability to read recipes and physically demonstrate culinary techniques and safety practices.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and dismantle appropriate buffet and banquet displays.
  • Proven experience in a hotel restaurant environment is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory role or hotel restaurant equivalent is required.
  • Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per company standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in ADP for payroll processing and labor management is preferred not mandatory.
  • Previous experience in banquet and event operations is preferred.
  • 1–2 years of a bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Tourism, or Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all morning food and beverage operations, including meal production, food quality, and presentation.
  • Maintain availability for occasional mid-to-PM shifts to support both Restaurant and Banquet operations as required.
  • Responsible for staff scheduling, generating post-meeting minutes, and other departmental administrative tasks.
  • Interact with guests and clients to monitor satisfaction trends, address issues, and implement improvements.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, provincial, and company health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Marriott brand standards across all shifts.
  • Work within budgeted guidelines regarding food costs, liquor costs, and payroll.
  • Monitor team performance, providing professional development, counseling, and recognition.
  • Accountable for monthly stock takes and maintaining necessary stock levels.
