About The Position

Our Food & Beverage team is growing here at Glen Arbour Golf Course and the Deerfield Pub! We are on the lookout for a Food & Beverage Server to join our team, where your "office" is one of Nova Scotia's beautiful outdoor settings. As an integral part of our Food & Beverage team, as a Food & Beverage Server you will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences across our pub service and our banquet and event functions from weddings and tournaments to private gatherings.

Requirements

Valid Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
Minimum 2 years of serving experience in a hospitality setting, including restaurants or banquet/event service
Comfort working high-volume events and large group functions such as weddings, tournaments, and corporate gatherings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset
Adaptable, team-oriented, and able to move seamlessly between pub and event service environments

Responsibilities

Greet guests promptly and professionally, presenting menus, offering cocktails and appetizers, explaining specials, and answering questions about the Deerfield Pub and Glen Arbour.
Provide thoughtful pairing recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
Take and enter orders accurately through the in-house POS system, ensuring special requests, allergies, and dietary needs are clearly communicated to the kitchen.
Anticipate and respond to guest needs, ensuring an attentive and personalized experience.
Set up function rooms for events, including table linens, place settings, and service stations as outlined on the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
Deliver plated, buffet, and family-style service to event guests in a timely, coordinated manner.
Assist with post-event tear down, including clearing tables, resetting the space, and returning rentals or equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service area in both pub and event settings.
Handle cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately and responsibly.
Work collaboratively with kitchen, bar, and event teams to ensure smooth service from start to finish.
