About The Position

Manage all aspects of front-of-house operations in the Food & Beverage Outlets, including Travelle Restaurant and Bar, Pavilion, and In Room Dining. Consistently deliver outstanding products and services to guests. Achieve a high level of guest satisfaction while maintaining service levels per Langham Hospitality Group and Forbes standards.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of Food and Beverage outlet operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction.
Considerable skill in math and algebraic equations using percentages.
Ability to walk, stand and or bend continuously to perform essential job functions.
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and associates.
Ability to use patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information to resolve problems.
Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations during busy periods.
One year of previous Food and Beverage and management experience.

Nice To Haves

Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management preferred.
Luxury experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership in the direction and supervision of food servers, server assistants, and other staff in reference to schedules, service standards, training, motivation, and safety.
Provide consistent and constructive communication and feedback to colleagues.
Ensure all service standards are met by conducting daily service audits.
Conduct pre-shift meetings with Food and Beverage colleagues.
Provide professional, seamless, and empathetic handling of all guest concerns. Ensure that follow-through is provided to guests and colleagues in a timely manner.
Ensure that all outlets comply with sanitation and safety standards for guests and employees. Check that all equipment is in working order. Visually inspect and take action to ensure that facilities in restaurant look appealing and attractive to guests. Follow up on work orders so repairs and maintenance of facility are completed on a timely basis.
Monitor product quality and guest satisfaction in restaurant. Ensure that food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to guest specifications. Interact with guests to obtain feedback on quality of service and food in outlets.
Document inventory forecast usage and monitor supply so that restaurants are stocked with linen, glassware, silverware, china, condiments, in order to provide service.
Participate in marketing efforts of restaurants, create menu ideas, survey competition and report food trends, and assist in preparations of specials. Interact with customers to determine needs, satisfaction and resolve conflicts.
Perform duties of line employees as needed under high volume and emergency situations.
Provide maximum levels of guest service while maintaining Langham Hospitality Group standards.
Be fully versed in all Forbes service standards, train, reinforce and ensure the proper execution of those standards.
Communicate effectively with Food and Beverage colleagues and management team in addition to other hotel departments.
Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
