About The Position

As our Food & Beverage Manager, you could be leading the charge to ensure our guests enjoy a truly memorable experience – whether they’ve worked up an appetite for a full conference banquet or are just joining us for their favorite beverage. The InterContinental Seattle Bellevue is looking for individuals who have a stellar knowledge of food & beverage, strong people-management and exceptional customer service skills, as well as a proven track record in high-volume concepts. Our Food & Beverage Manager will oversee multiple outlets and will report to our Hotel Manager. Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be: ● Managing, coaching, and developing a team of committed hospitality professionals. ● Delivering exceptional guest and corporate experiences by setting high standards and finding new ways to exceed them. ● Managing food and beverage standards to deliver against our commitment to responsible business practices. ● Working closely with the Hotel Manager and finance team to set, monitor and refine budgets and drive revenue. ● Multitasking to oversee multiple food and beverage outlets, banquets, and in-room dining facilities – as well as a number of managers and supervisors.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • 3-5 years or more of progressive hotel Food and Beverage experience.
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a senior role in a food and beverage environment.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line.
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills.
  • Must have current and valid WA food handler’s and MAST permit.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience implementing new F&B concepts.
  • Prior experience with POS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Motivating and managing a team of front of the house colleagues for food and beverage.
  • Assisting with the budget, marketing plans and objectives and managing within those approved plans.
  • Implementing and maintaining F&B sales/marketing programs.
  • Mentorship and overseeing the development of employees.
  • Hiring, training, empowering, coaching/counseling and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Directing the implementation of the payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for food and beverage operations.
  • Coordinating food and beverage operations with other hotel departments to ensure efficient guest service.
  • Resolving guest complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.
  • Implementing procedures to increase guest and associate satisfaction.
  • Exercising quality control for both food and beverage.
  • Maintaining standards of service and ensure their implementation.
  • Performing daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and brand standards.
  • Coaching and counseling employees to reflect brand service standards and procedures.
  • Maintaining schedules for multiple outlets each week based on forecast and event schedules.
  • Ensuring all colleagues maintain current food and alcohol permits, at all times.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
