About The Position

Bodega Taqueria y Tequila is seeking a dynamic and experienced Food & Beverage Manager to join our team. The Food & Beverage Manager will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant's food and beverage service, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Additionally, as a Food & Beverage Manager you will be responsible for the nightly operations of Bodega Taqueria y Tequila while ensuring adherence to company standards. You will need to be visibly present on the floor during service and solicit feedback from guests/customers. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a keen eye for detail.

Requirements

• 2+ years of Food & Beverage, Restaurant and Bar Management experience required.
• Must have a high degree of professional integrity, and be able to work safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• All Associates are required to abide by all Safety rules and ensure they perform each task by practicing safe work habits.
• Any associate who incurs any type of injury is required to report immediately to their immediate supervisor or the Security Officer on duty.
• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with staff and vendors.
• Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures.
• This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms.
• Proficiency in effectively presenting information and responding to questions from staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor food and beverage service staff, including servers, bartenders, and support staff.
• Create and maintain a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
• Assist in scheduling staff effectively to meet operational needs while optimizing labor costs.
• Responsible for assigning and supervising all opening and/or closing side duties.
• Hold daily meetings to discuss operational matters.
• Engage in ongoing employee training sessions to facilitate continual improvement in performance.
• Acknowledge exceptional performance and address disciplinary actions for unsatisfactory conduct to foster behavioral improvement.
• Assist in overseeing the inventory levels of food and beverage items, which includes responsibilities such as ordering, receiving, and stocking.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Monitor food preparation, presentation, and service to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Address any issues or concerns related to food or beverage quality promptly and effectively.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all food and beverage service areas.
• Circulate on the floor while continually checking with the guests/customers to ensure that everything is to the guests’ satisfaction.
• Handle guest/customer complaints and thank them upon departure.
• Monitor and supervise restaurant and/or bar to ensure operation is properly functioning.
• Effectively communicate with customers and employees in a positive and concise manner.
• Listen attentively to requests, provide accurate information, and respond appropriately.
• Maintain composure and attentiveness, particularly during busy periods or emergencies, setting a positive example for all staff.
• Collaborate closely with all departments to ensure smooth operations and uphold high standards of guest service.
• Perform all onboarding duties of newly hired employees in the absence of the Onboarding Human Resources Manager.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
• Oversee food safety practices, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of bar-related items.
• Adhere to all alcohol service laws and regulations, ensuring responsible service practices.
• Ensure all bar team members participate in Florida Responsible Vendor trainings as required.
• Assist in organizing training programs, workshops, and other learning initiatives to support employee development and skill enhancement.
• Serve as the primary contact for all beverage quality assurance within the property, offering hands-on training to staff as needed.
