About The Position
The Food and Nutrition Services Manager works with the Assistant Manager as a team to manage daily functions of the cafeteria and ensure the organized, efficient operation of the food service programs in their assigned building.
Requirements
- Illinois Food Sanitation Certification
- Knowledge of food purchasing, sanitation procedures, and equipment operation
- Experience in school food service management
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace
- Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, management, and customer service skills
- Ability to bend, stoop, turn, squat, and lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds
- Ability and willingness to respond to after-hours calls via telephone and work overtime to respond to emergencies (broken cooling equipment, etc.) as directed
Responsibilities
- Manages the daily operation of the school's food service program.
- Provides leadership and supervision to food service staff to support efficient operations, quality service, and a positive work environment.
- Ensures established standards for food quality, nutrition, sanitation, safety, financial accountability, and customer service are maintained.
- Supports the goals of the Food and Nutrition Services Department and communicates operational needs and concerns to District-level administration.
