About The Position

As a Food & Beverage Intern at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago, you will gain hands-on exposure to the daily operations of a world-class luxury hotel. You will learn the standards, service sequences, and attention to detail that define The Ritz-Carlton experience by working alongside experienced leaders and service professionals. This role involves supporting restaurant, banquet, lounge, or in-room dining operations, assisting with guest engagement, and event execution. The internship provides foundational skills in hospitality and contributes to creating meaningful guest experiences. Requirements

  • Excellent comprehension for assisting with guest and associate matters.
  • Vision required for seating guests, expediting food, cleaning equipment, reading floor plans, charts, schedules.
  • Excellent oral communication for communicating with guests and associates, issuing instructions and communicating policies.
  • Excellent comprehension required to read and implement policies and procedures; writing schedules and reading forecast and SOPs.
  • Must have knowledge of chemicals/agents for training purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a summer rotational program encompassing hotel operations, such as Restaurant, Bar, In-Room Dining and Cafe.
  • Gain first-hand experience into a chosen operational area of the hotel.
  • Earn valuable career-related knowledge for professional growth.
  • Receive training and mentorship from professional managers.
  • Have opportunities for cross-operational exposures to gain a broad understanding of how hotel departments interact and support each other.
