About The Position

RRD is a leading global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions. This position is for a trainable addition to our pharmaceutical packaging team. The role involves setting up, adjusting, and operating small format folding equipment, performing fine mechanical adjustments for accuracy and consistency, and running pharmaceutical inserts and outserts to strict quality standards. Training will be provided for setting up automatic bindery machines, inspecting equipment for safety and regulatory requirements, and monitoring quality, output, and productivity.

Requirements

No experience necessary, will train candidates with some mechanical experience/aptitude
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Nice To Haves

Prior experience on small folding equipment
Knowledge of the set up, operating requirements, procedures, capabilities and limitations of one or more bindery machines
Knowledge of the quality and machining requirements of various coated and uncoated types of paper stock
Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and to refine such adjustments for the weight, color, machinability and quality of paper stock being used and to prevent machining impressions on the printed materials

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust and operate small format folding equipment
Perform fine mechanical adjustments to ensure accuracy and consistency
Run pharmaceutical inserts and outserts to strict quality standards
Set up automatic bindery machines containing multiple functions and station capabilities (power paper cutters, power collators and gatherers, power folders, power speed binder)
Inspect equipment for safety issues, customer and regulatory requirements using provided guidelines
Make needed adjustments to coordinate the multiple work stations on a single machine
Monitor quality, output and productivity, with appropriate guidance and instruction
