About The Position

Smurfit Westrock is hiring a Folder/Gluer Operator in West Chester, Ohio. The operator is responsible for overall machine production and the quality of the work produced. The role is on third shift and pays $26.49 per hour plus a shift differential. Overtime is required.

The operator sets up and runs the machine, reviews production information, maintains production records, and reports on production. The role includes coordinating rake-off personnel, maintaining accurate load tags and unitizing, ensuring timely completion of orders, monitoring quality, maintaining glue supplies, performing routine preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting production issues. The operator works with the production supervisor to meet the schedule and is responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the equipment and work area.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Candidates must undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional offer and before starting employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED minimum.
• Prior experience operating a Folder/Gluer.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• May need the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the machine, review production master information, and maintain and report production records.
• Ensure machine efficiency and timely completion of orders.
• Coordinate rake-off personnel and ensure the accuracy of load tags and unitizing.
• Evaluate production quality and raise concerns with the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain inventory supplies, including glue.
• Perform routine maintenance in accordance with Preventive Maintenance procedures.
• Troubleshoot production issues and inform the maintenance department of possible equipment problems.
• Work with the production supervisor to meet the production schedule.
• Maintain the safety and cleanliness of equipment and the work area.
• Work safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Work overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
