About The Position

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a FMS System Engineer supporting the ISR Sensors Division (AFLCMC/WIN), at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. WIN is part of the ISR/SOF Directorate (AFLCMC/WI), who is responsible for equipping our warfighters to win the fight. The Directorate executes a $22 billion acquisition portfolio developing, producing, testing, modifying, fielding, and supporting Air Force ISR and SOF platforms, and related sub-systems. The ISR/SOF Directorate has the collective Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission responsibility for equipping ISR & SOF warfighters to dominate the battlespace.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have at time of application a minimum of a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree (or 7 years related experience with no degree)
  • At least (5) years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed
  • Three of which must be in the DoD

Responsibilities

  • Translate FMS user requirements into system requirements which will be used by the weapon system contractor to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment.
  • Assist in performing technical/mission analyses of operational requirements, assist in developing system concepts, and perform technological/trade-off study assessments of proposed designs.
  • Assist with processes for drafting project documentation including, SOOs and SOWs, program plans, schedules, and presentations.
  • Assist in drafting regulatory and statutory documentation to include, but not be limited to, the SEP and life cycle management plan.
  • Assist in reviewing Contractor documents and data and providing comments.
  • Assist test teams in the development of test requirements, reviewing test plans.
  • Assist in reviewing and analyzing technical proposals or modifications for cost, design feasibility and system compatibility.
  • Assist in supporting and conducting engineering performance, effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical/schedule risk assessment, and scheduling trade-off studies.
  • Assist in supporting the evaluation of IMP, IMS, and SEDS engineering cost estimates.
  • Assist in the evaluation of systems test plans (such as systems test plans/test and evaluation master plans) and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem, and component testing.
  • Provide systems/subsystems integration support for the acquisition, development, and verification of systems and equipment.
