About The Position

We are now accepting resumes/applications for EXPERIENCED Flux-Core Welders & Fitters for the Bayou Vista, LA and surrounding area. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following: Job Scope: Weld & fit on baskets & containers as needed. Tasks beyond those listed above will be asked of you, so a positive, can-do attitude is required.

Requirements

MUST be able to pass a drug test
MUST be able to pass background check
MUST be able to pass onsite fitting & welding test
MUST have Flux-Core welding and fabricating experience
Must be able to weld in various positions
Must be able to read and understand blueprint drawings
Excellent math skills with ability to efficiently read a tape measure
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrate strong work ethic
Demonstrate consistency in quality of work
Must have reliable transportation
Must have own welding shield and PPE (hard hat, steel toes, gloves, & safety glasses)

Responsibilities

Weld & fit on baskets & containers as needed
Layout and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using ruler, square, scribe or templates
Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind, and bolt components to position for welding
Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
Operate cutting equipment including torches and various power and hand tools
Remove rough spots from workpieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers
Safely operate iron worker, grinders, overhead cranes, rigging, pipe threading machine, welding machine, and various pneumatic hand tools
Assembly of components with some fabrication of equipment needed for the job with minimal supervision
Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances the safety of the work environment
Implement health and safety standards when carrying out job operations to ensure public and environmental safety
