About The Position

RAI is seeking full-time, experienced Flux Core Structural Welders for our Williamston, SC location. RAI is a single-source steel fabricator and construction firm providing a full range of design, engineering, fabrication, and erection services. AISC certified in both fabrication and erection, our complete in-house capabilities enable fast response, maximum flexibility, and complete coordination of all project phases. We serve many Fortune 500 clients and others across the Southeastern United States. Requirements

3 – 5 years’ experience preferred
Ability to pass an AWS weld test required
Flux core welding experience required

Nice To Haves

MIG and TIG experience preferred
Stainless steel and aluminum experience a plus

Responsibilities

Adhere to all safety procedures, including wearing all proper PPE
Operate a welding machine to join parts together, utilizing proper techniques for different joint types, positions, and thicknesses
Clean, grind, and prepare metal to ensure proper weld penetration
Accurately interpret drawings and prints to understand the required weld specifications, joint types, and positioning of components
Measure and cut using power tools, plasma cutters, and oxy-fuel torches
Visually inspect welds for defects like porosity, slag inclusions, and undercut
Regularly clean and maintain welding equipment, including the wire feeder and power supply
Must be able to pass a 3G weld test on 1” carbon plate with a backer bar
