About The Position

As a Stress Lead on the FLRAA team, you will provide a significant depth of expertise and leadership for stress and dynamics analysis across the FLRAA engine components. This expertise will be utilized in support of component design changes and component verification activity. You will lead the FLRAA Stress Team, guiding methods, priorities, audit & oversight, and meeting of program requirements. Will also present directly to customer, regarding analysis requirements, methods, and results. The Stress Tech Lead will also be a focal point for mentoring the design team and consulting with the wider program team on stress and dynamics related technical issues. This role will remain engaged with the ET&S Engineering team by mentoring junior analysts, serving as a SLARP/DTARP auditor across programs, and advancing the structural analyst skillset.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s Degree in Engineering with seven years of Stress Analysis experience OR A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with five years of Stress Analysis experience OR A Master’s Degree in Engineering with three years of Stress Analysis experience OR JD/Ph.D.
  • Understanding of Intellectual Property and Export Control requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a Security Clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • A deep understanding of specialist subject and proven ability to influence key decisions
  • ANSYS experience
  • Gas Turbine experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and execution of the strategy with respect to their area of specialism; is regarded as a thought leader.

  • Proactively accesses internal and external networks of fellow specialists to further the understanding of the specialist subject; supports the implementation of strategic collaborative relationships.
  • Provides technical direction to peers and more junior professionals, and technical leadership to teams and projects within their specialism.
  • Supports the definition of skill and professional knowledge within their area of specialism; identifies, co-ordinates and delivers training; supports the development of other specialists; provides active mentoring.
  • Ensures appropriate policies, standards and best practices are defined, shared and adopted
  • Leads the sharing of Best Practice; represents the area as an authority in their defined subject; provides concise justification for decisions; records and captures salient information in reports and systems
