About The Position

Loyola Medical Center is seeking a Flow Cytometry- Medical Lab Scientist to support patient care by performing laboratory testing for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This role primarily supports the Oncology Service Line and involves high complexity testing. The new state-of-the-art Regional Clinical Laboratory at Loyola Medical Center offers improved operational efficiencies and turnaround times, supporting future growth and emerging technologies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or associate Degree in Medical Technologist, Medical Technician or Medical Laboratory Science.
Experience with waived, moderate, and high complexity testing in a "clinical" laboratory setting through education or work experience required.
Laboratory certification required (ASCP or HEW).

Nice To Haves

Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Performs all laboratory testing, including the pre-examination phase, in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation guidelines to support the delivery of patient care.
Conducts and documents established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products.
Evaluates the results of quality control testing and implements corrective action according to established protocols to ensure the accuracy and quality of patient testing.
Participates in the validation of laboratory methods and procedures to meet the changing health care needs of our patients.
Performs high complexity testing, primarily in support of the Oncology Service Line.
Comfortable with performing bone marrow assists.
