About The Position
The Freelance Firm is a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals providing remote, on-demand support for legal projects. Due to increased demand, they are interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dedicated Florida Estate Planning & Probate Paralegal. Remote work hours will vary, but are expected to be approximately 10+ hours per week. This is a contract-based opportunity.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Paralegal with direct experience in both Florida estate planning and probate matters.
- Strong understanding of Florida estate planning, probate administration, court procedures, and filing requirements.
- Ability to manage probate matters from initial filing through final distribution and closing of the estate.
- Strong calendaring and case management skills.
- Experience with the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal and electronic court filings.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent drafting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter who can work independently and proactively manage matters with minimal supervision.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with estate planning software such as WealthCounsel, Westlaw Form Builder, or similar platforms.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and drafting wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare surrogate designations, living wills, and other estate planning documents.
- Preparing probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court filings.
- Managing probate matters from initial filing through final distribution and closing of the estate.
- Gathering and organizing estate assets, financial records, and supporting documentation.
- Communicating professionally with clients, beneficiaries, personal representatives, financial institutions, and the courts.
- Coordinating document signings, witnessing, notarization, and execution of estate planning documents.
- Monitoring deadlines and managing multiple active matters.
- Utilizing the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal and electronic court filings.
