Part-Time Floral Merchandiser
About The Position
Sunshine Bouquet Company is seeking a motivated Part-Time Floral Merchandiser to service customers and manage, maintain, and merchandise high-volume fresh-cut flower and potted plant displays at a client facility in Frankfort, Kentucky. The role involves caring for floral displays before the business opens, replenishing products during business hours, and assisting customers. Route locations and requirements may change based on business needs. The position is scheduled for five hours per week, generally on Tuesdays and Fridays, though the schedule is subject to change. Hours may increase during holidays and promotional periods. Compensation is $18 per hour. The role requires local travel, early mornings, and availability for split shifts, weekends, and additional hours during holidays or promotional periods.
Requirements
- Be punctual and professional, and demonstrate initiative as a self-starter.
- Travel locally and hold a valid driver's license in good standing.
- Be computer literate and own a smartphone with data service.
- Have access to a printer or own a printer.
- Be able to use Microsoft Outlook on mobile and desktop devices.
- Work efficiently under minimal supervision.
- Be detail-oriented and communicate effectively with supervisors.
- Be able to stand and move about, bend, kneel, and lift at least 30 pounds.
- Be able to operate a manual pallet jack; training is provided.
- Be available for early mornings, split shifts, weekends, and additional hours during holidays or promotional periods.
- Be able to work with floral materials and foliage.
Responsibilities
- Clean, water, restock, and merchandise floral displays before business opening hours.
- Access cold storage for short periods.
- Move palletized products around the facility using a manual pallet jack.
- Lift and palletize boxes.
- Replenish merchandise as items are purchased.
- Identify and remove damaged or outdated floral items from displays.
- Assist potential floral customers with questions and product selection during business hours.
- Send and receive emails with photo attachments using a smartphone.
- Conduct inventory counts of floral products.
