About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum (3) years management experience in a retail/restaurant/supermarket environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promote excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior with associates.
  • Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Focus on continuous improvement in all areas of the department.
  • Take customer orders over the phone or in person.
  • Create finished floral products in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a fresh, clean, and appealing department, following code dating and sanitization procedures.
  • Store products at the appropriate temperature.
  • Build clean, simple, and merchandised displays according to company standards.
  • Move product to create impulse sales.
  • Understand the market and local trends to target floral programs.
  • Monitor competitor activity regarding merchandising, pricing, quality, and signage.
  • Develop and implement localized merchandising plans and create displays for new or seasonal items.
  • Communicate with other departments and the store manager for cross-merchandising plans to meet financial objectives.
  • Manage department inventory by tracking weekly sales and writing orders to meet quality and profit goals.
  • React to daily load levels and rework product that is not moving.
  • Understand procedures for arrangements and upgrades.
  • Check and verify department deliveries and invoices.
  • Unload merchandise and transport it to the sales floor or storage area.
  • Enforce and follow department practices for receiving, dating, and restocking to ensure product rotation.
  • Monitor product quality and freshness.
  • Break down deliveries.
  • Create designs in front of customers.
  • Make customized pieces for events or decoration.
  • Ensure the department changes with each season, following corporate guidelines.
  • Decorate using key elements that are also for sale in the department.
  • Train other floral associates on new or existing programs using daily best practices.
  • Cooperate with supervisor and co-workers for continuous improvement.
  • Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Maintain backroom and receiving area security and organization by promoting 5S procedures.
  • Ensure general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines.
  • Dispose of trash properly.
  • Schedule all floral associates, oversee and participate in training, reward and recognize performance, and delegate work assignments.
  • Participate in associate annual performance reviews and new hire interviews.
  • Supervise all associates within the department.
