About The Position

1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. is looking for a Floral Designer for their Philadelphia MDC. This role requires professional floral design experience and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively to meet operational deadlines while maintaining quality standards. The position involves assisting with plant maintenance, ensuring proper floral handling, identifying flowers, executing design recipes, and assisting in other departments as needed. The work environment is fast-paced and can be demanding, especially during holidays, requiring flexibility and availability for weekends and extended hours. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in environments with varying temperatures. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as a floral designer in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
• Foundational knowledge of floral handling and processing
• Ability to identify a wide variety of flowers by name to accurately execute design recipes
• Creative mindset
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members to meet deadlines
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment
• Strong communication skills
• Must be flexible and willing to work extended hours during holidays
• Must be available to work weekends
• Must comply with all FDA standards
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 25–40 pounds as needed
• Ability to work in indoor environments with varying temperatures, including cold and heat
• Must wear closed-toe footwear in accordance with safety guidelines
• Must be able to assist in other departments as business needs dictate
• Floral design experience required
• Minimum of 3–5 years of professional floral design experience preferred
• Strong mathematical skills
• Ability to effectively receive and communicate instructions
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Must be a team player and work collaboratively with others
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance of plants and dish gardens
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooler at all times
• Ensure proper floral handling and processing standards are followed
• Accurately identify a wide variety of flowers by name
• Execute design recipes in accordance with productivity and quality standards
• Assist in other departments as needed
