Floral Delivery Lead Driver/Dispatcher
About The Position
Dr. Delphinium, Dallas’ premier florist, is seeking a dependable and experienced Delivery Lead to support our delivery team and ensure exceptional customer service. As a Delivery Lead, you’ll be a standout driver who consistently demonstrates organization, efficiency, and professionalism. You’ll help maintain the standard of our products and service, support the team in daily operations, and serve as a resource for department policies and best practices. When the Delivery Manager is out of office, the Lead will act as the primary point of contact for the department.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record meeting insurance requirements
- Minimum two years of delivery experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills; friendly, professional, and solution-focused
- Excellent communication and leadership presence
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Comfortable working independently and supporting a team in a fast-paced environment
- Calm and tactful when handling difficult or time-sensitive situations
- Flexible schedule with availability to work weekends and holidays
- Tobacco-free workplace; adherence to company policy required during working hours
- Self-motivated, punctual, and dependable
- Must pass a drug test and background check
Responsibilities
- Perform all standard delivery driver duties, including delivering floral arrangements and gift items
- Determine efficient delivery routes and meet all assigned “by” times
- Follow all safe driving rules and property-specific delivery instructions
- Provide exceptional customer service upon delivery; verify signatures and answer delivery-related questions
- Maintain professionalism and positive communication with clients and teammates
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections (fluids, tires, etc.) and report maintenance needs
- Keep assigned delivery vehicles clean, inside and out
- Ensure 100% compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Support the Delivery Manager with administrative tasks, vehicle maintenance, and daily checklists
- Enforce department rules and regulations
- Assist with training new team members
- Pull trips, check for add-ons, and help manage daily routing
- Act as the point of contact and decision-maker when the Delivery Manager is out of office
- Rotate weekday closing shifts and weekend supervisor shifts
- Maintain strong communication with internal teams, including designers, client relations, events, and retail locations
- Support flexibility during blackout periods, holidays, inclement weather, and staffing emergencies
