About The Position
This position involves greeting customers, accurately checking out purchases, and providing friendly and courteous service. The role requires regular and reliable attendance. Responsibilities include receiving and processing merchandise, displaying plants and flowers with proper signage, and attending to their care. The Floral Clerk must be knowledgeable about flower and plant names and their proper care. They will also be responsible for creating bows, corsages, and boutonnieres, arranging and packaging fresh flowers, and pulling dated product. Adherence to company safety and sanitation procedures, including cleaning work areas, is essential. The role involves the proper use of helium tanks for balloons, handling phone inquiries, taking orders for pickup and delivery, and knowing the procedure for ordering F.T.D. Additionally, the Floral Clerk will operate a cash terminal, process cash, checks, and credit cards, and may unload and display seasonal bedding plants. Other duties may be assigned by store management.
Requirements
- 18 years or older to apply
- Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Proper use of helium tanks to inflate balloons
- Know proper procedure for ordering F.T.D.
- Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred for Store/Facility Teammates
- Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred for Store Support Center Teammates
- Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline)
- If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers prior to checking their order
- Check out customer’s purchases accurately
- Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
- Receive and process merchandise
- Display plants and flowers, using proper signs
- Water, and attend to flowers and plants
- Be knowledgeable on names, and proper care of flowers and plants
- Make bows, corsages, and boutonnieres
- Arrange fresh flowers
- Package and wrap fresh flowers
- Pull dated product
- Follow company safety and sanitation procedures by cleaning shelves, floor and work areas
- Provide customer service on phones
- Take orders, and prepare for pickup and delivery
- Know proper procedure for ordering F.T.D.
- Operate a cash terminal, knowing proper procedure to receive cash, checks and credit cards
- Unload bedding plants, place on racks outside store (seasonal)
