About The Position

The Quality Control Field Technician oversees daily installation operations, subcontractors, and material logistics to ensure projects are completed on time and to quality standards. This role involves performing daily site visits to assigned communities, communicating directly with community builders or superintendents, and establishing trusting relationships. The technician will also attend preconstruction and safety meetings, inspect flooring and cabinet installations within 48 hours of completion, and communicate job site readiness to management. Responsibilities include managing site inventory, removing excess parts, performing minor repairs, conducting customer service inspections, and documenting progress through system notes and email updates with photos. Occasional material deliveries and reporting of incomplete installations or delays to management are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in flooring and/or cabinetry installation industry.
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Ability to present and articulate points clearly and effectively.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Must consistently meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proactive communication is essential in this role.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Computer literate and proficient in MS Office – SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Word.
  • Clean driving record, valid driver's license, and auto insurance are required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily site visits to the assigned communities and communicate directly with the community builder or superintendent.
  • Establish a relationship built on trust and dependability with each job site builder and their personnel.
  • Answer field calls, texts and emails professionally and promptly with knowledge and courtesy.
  • Attend builder’s preconstruction and safety meetings.
  • Inspect the installation of the flooring and/or cabinets within 48 hours of completion.
  • Communicate the homesite's readiness information to Management.
  • Keep a record of the site inventory, remove any excess parts from the job sites, and return them to the warehouse.
  • Perform minor repairs such as partial tile and LVP replacements, grout, or caulking touch-ups, etc.
  • Conduct customer service inspections/repairs with homebuyers, builders, superintendents, and manufacturers.
  • Add notes consistently to the system.
  • Email completed walk sheets and short product order forms with pictures to assigned office associates for progress updates.

  • Inform Management of any incomplete installations, outstanding issues, or job site delays to address them promptly.
