About The Position

The Floor Technician is responsible for floor maintenance and restoration and operating industrial floor-care equipment. The position performs maintenance and restorative processes on different floor surfaces, including hard-floor care and carpet and upholstery cleaning. The role is part time at Allied Services Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania, with a schedule of varying days from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Prior floor-care experience, including scrubbing and buffing, is required. The fixed pay rate is $14.00 per hour.

Requirements

Prior floor-care experience, including scrubbing and buffing, is required.
Proven knowledge of floor-care equipment and techniques is required.
Knowledge of and ability to follow safety procedures.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a floor-care technician or in a related role is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain knowledge of hard-surface floor maintenance principles and use appropriate procedures for stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing.
Operate various types of industrial floor-care equipment.
Use automated equipment to clean large floor areas.
Clean carpet and upholstery using appropriate procedures, including shampooing, damp-surface cleaning, extraction, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.
Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor-surface types.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
