FLOOR TECHNICIAN (H)
About The Position
ABM is seeking a reliable and experienced Floor Technician to maintain and upkeep carpet and hard-surface floors. The role includes cleaning and maintaining buildings and facilities, using cleaning chemicals and power equipment safely, and carrying out general custodial and seasonal tasks. No experience or degree is required, and on-the-job training is provided. The listed schedules are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. or Monday through Friday, 6 p.m.–2:30 a.m. ABM describes this as a suitable opportunity for someone entering or returning to the workforce, including veterans and candidates with military experience.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must meet requirements for approval to work in specific ATS environments, if applicable, including a ten-year work history if available.
- No experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.

- One year of similar work experience.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain buildings and facilities.
- Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Notify the manager when minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems are needed.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
- Comply with company, client, and regulatory safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures.
- Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, manually or with hand trucks.
- Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and tools.
- Wash and replace blinds.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, and perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
- Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
