Do you have the Hospice Heart? Your Life as a Floor Technician & Porter Your role is essential to the experience of every patient and family who walks through our doors. We will rely on you to help keep our floors clean, safe, and professional-especially in hallways and common areas-and to support room turnovers by using floor equipment as needed when rooms are prepared. You'll also play a key role behind the scenes by helping set up and reset rooms for events, meetings, and gatherings (tables, chairs, room layouts, and equipment). On days when the team needs extra hands, you'll provide backup support to Housekeeping and occasional basic support to Facilities/Maintenance-because at Hospice, we all serve together. Our facility operates every day, including holidays, and this position may rotate as needed to ensure the building is always ready at a moment's notice.

Requirements

• Experience in floor care, housekeeping, custodial work, or commercial cleaning.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage time well.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety (including chemical and equipment safety).
• Compassionate, service-oriented approach with a professional demeanor.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to understand and respect the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and families in a hospice setting.
• Physically able to be on your feet for extended periods and move equipment/furniture as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Floor machine experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep floors clean, safe, and professional, especially in hallways and common areas.
• Support room turnovers by using floor equipment as needed when rooms are prepared.
• Set up and reset rooms for events, meetings, and gatherings (tables, chairs, room layouts, and equipment).
