About The Position

The Floor Technician performs scheduled floor-care tasks assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. Duties may also include mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, arranging furniture, and generally cleaning furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware. The position is at Skilled Nursing at Solera at West Houston in Houston, Texas, and is PRN on the evening shift.

Requirements

Experience in floor care.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
Experience using floor-care equipment is helpful.

Responsibilities

Maintain all floor surfaces.
Buff and wax floors, strip and wax floors, and top-scrub and wax floors.
Extract and vacuum carpets as directed by the Supervisor.
Use appropriate chemicals and equipment.
Report repair needs to the Supervisor or maintenance department, as appropriate.
Request needed supplies and equipment from the Supervisor.
Identify and correct safety hazards and follow safety rules.
Review and follow the Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention, including the employee's responsibility to enforce it.
Attend weekly in-services and understand and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
Help ensure patient and resident safety.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
May mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo carpets, arrange furniture, and clean furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware.
