About The Position

The Floor Technician / Room Attendant is a service-driven, energetic team player responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms, public areas, corridors, and all floor surfaces (carpeted, tile, and hard surfaces) throughout the resort. This dual-role position combines general room cleaning with specialized floor care and preventative maintenance on flooring equipment, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment that meets brand standards and exceeds guest expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of combined experience in housekeeping/room attendant roles and floor care/technician positions (hospitality or facility services preferred).
  • Proven ability to operate floor maintenance equipment safely.
  • Strong command of the English language (speak, read, write, understand).
  • Adhere to dress code and maintain a neat, clean appearance.
  • Wear identification while on duty and report to work on time.
  • Complete annual training, staff meetings, and in-services.
  • Represent the resort in a positive, professional manner, communicating its mission, ethics, and goals.
  • Comply with all organizational policies, including ethical practices and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, suites, offices, corridors, lobbies, and other public areas, including vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash, collecting and replacing lines, and restocking amenities.
  • Perform deep cleaning and maintenance of all floor types: strip, wax, buff, and polish hard surfaces; shampoo, extract, and spot-clean carpets; and sweep/mop tile and brick flooring.
  • Operate and maintain specialized floor equipment (e.g., buffers, extractors, vacuums) safely and correctly, performing preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, special cleaning projects, and management directives while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals, supplies, and procedures; always display safety signs (e.g., “wet floor”) and observe health, safety, and infection control protocols.
  • Promote goodwill by being courteous, friendly, and helpful to guests, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Maintain a neat personal appearance, clean work area, and organized cart/equipment at all times.
  • Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or equipment malfunctions immediately.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and handle high-volume requests with attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
  • Assist with turnover of rooms during peak periods or staffing shortages.
  • Participate in inventory counts, deep-clean initiatives, or cross-departmental projects as required.
