About The Position

Floor Technicians are responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, corridors, entrances, stairwells, and other public areas such as break rooms. This role requires a valid Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, as operating a company vehicle is an essential responsibility in this position. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Minimum 1 ½ years’ experience in floor care
  • Knowledge of how to strip, wax, and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance
  • Knowledge and experience operating various pieces of equipment such as high-speed buffers, extractors, wet vacs, pressure washers, and auto scrubbers
  • Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills
  • A valid driver's license may be required for this role (depending on work site/ location)

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on all equipment prior to use
  • Secure the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work
  • Floors care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells
  • Vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery
  • Wall cleaning
  • Dusting (high and low)
  • Routine restroom cleaning
  • Routine office and/or break room cleaning
  • Maintenance of floor care equipment
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
  • Maintain clean work area
  • Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
  • Take direction and respond to supervision
  • Communicate with the lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers professionally
  • Fill in during staff shortage
  • Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
  • Use proper personal protective equipment
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct
  • Understand customer service and satisfaction
  • Understand reporting systems and the environment
