About The Position

This full-time position is responsible for all types of floor care, including carpet cleaning, stripping, sealing, refinishing, replacing, and scrubbing. The role also involves general housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident rooms and bathrooms, changing linens, making beds, emptying trash, and maintaining the cleanliness of hallways and common spaces. The Floor Tech/Housekeeper will also monitor supply levels, follow safety guidelines, and assist with clean-up and disposal as needed. The position requires adherence to company core anchors and may involve other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Grammar school education required; high school or its equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write and comprehend English.
  • One year floor tech experience.
  • Knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary to provide floor care and other duties as assigned.
  • Employee is required to comply with attendance and tardiness standards established by management.
  • Employee is required to comply with all safety procedures and to follow universal precautions and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Employee is required to use proper body mechanics.
  • Employee is required to understand OSHA’s Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), where this information is located and what action needs to be taken when an accident occurs with chemicals.
  • Corrected vision to 20/20 and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
  • Requires ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, and walk over 75% of shift.

Responsibilities

  • Using approved equipment, responsible for all types of floor care including carpet cleaning, stripping, sealing, refinishing, replacing, scrubbing, and other forms of care as needed.
  • Reports all maintenance defects to supervisor or Director of Environmental Services.
  • Uses equipment and supplies as directed and follows all instructions on Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Assists the Team in clean up and disposal as needed and required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Willing to perform other duties as required by management or as the special project requires.
  • Adheres to Morningside core anchors.
  • Cleaning resident rooms including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping.
  • Cleaning resident and public bathrooms.
  • Changing linens and making beds in assigned rooms.
  • Emptying trash in resident rooms and public areas.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of hallways and common spaces.
  • Monitoring housekeeping supply levels and notifying supervisor when supplies are needed.
  • Following safety practices according to OSHA guidelines.
