About The Position

The Floor Sweeper keeps plant floors free of debris and prepares areas for scrubbing. The role includes inspecting and cleaning the floor scrubber, sweeping areas before they are scrubbed, and using a scissor lift to remove cobwebs around the interior of the plant after completing required training and certifications. The position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and may include other duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively and convey information to other employees.
• Ability to perform arithmetic with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.
• Sufficient corrected visual acuity to read instructions and operate machines.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions and handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the floor scrubber.
• Dump waste from the scrubber and clean its waste tank.
• Sweep floor locations to be scrubbed, removing debris and excess dirt and dust.
• Complete scissor lift and fall protection training to obtain required certifications.
• Use the scissor lift to assist with cobweb removal around the interior of the plant.
• Use the floor sweeper to keep floors free of debris.
• Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
