Requirements

HS Diploma/GED OR 1 YR previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED or successful completion of the 5-week EVS training program
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
Ability to use all housekeeping equipment.
Act 34 with renewal

Nice To Haves

May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.

Responsibilities

Cleans and sanitizes after emergency spill clean up requests.
Change Shampoo to Extracts.
Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, reporting all problems to the supervisor.
Shampoo assigned carpeted areas.
Maintain all assigned equipment; keep equipment clean and in good repair, report all problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
Comply with all Hospital/Department policies and procedures.
Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisor.
Remove all soil, wax, and sealer from assigned hard-surface floors.
Uses chemicals and solutions per department Tech Manual.
Assumes other job-related cleaning responsibilities, including Environmental Services Associate functions, as required to support departmental operations and patient care needs.
MWH: Preventive Cleaning: Remove debris from entrances, sidewalks, parking lots, and garages.
MWH: Other Duties: Maintains equipment and work areas.
MWH: Other Duties: Transports furniture, beds, boxes, and other equipment and supplies.
MWH: Waste Removal: Transports recycled waste from the point of origin to designated holding areas and/or special compactor.
MWH: Waste Removal: Transports municipal waste in a safe manner from designated areas to the compactor.
MWH: Waste Removal: Transports bio hazardous and chemo therapeutic waste in a safe manner from designated areas to the incinerator.
MWH: Preventive Cleaning: Clean exam rooms, public rest rooms and waiting areas, offices, corridors, and all non-patient care areas.
MWH: Other Duties: Cleans refrigerators and other general equipment.
MWH: Other Duties: Removes trash and linen to proper collection areas.
MWH: Preventive Cleaning: Vacuum and spot cleans carpets.
