About The Position

The Floor Maintenance Clerk ensures that Lowes Foods guest service, safety, and store cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the store. The role also ensures that Show standards are implemented and maintained both inside and outside the store. The clerk maintains and sanitizes floors and carpeted areas, operates floor-care equipment, keeps supplies organized, supports front-end service as needed, and communicates maintenance needs to store management.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 40 lbs. constantly and 60 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and direction.
Knowledge of safety and sanitation guidelines.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication and guest service skills.
Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull, and operate floor equipment for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

Provide polite, friendly interactions with all guests and co-workers.
Use and maintain a floor scrubber and buffer.
Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of floors throughout the store.
Clean up spills, sweep, and mop as needed.
Maintain a neat and safe work area so guests can shop without agitation.
Maintain and organize floor chemicals and supplies.
Vacuum, steam clean, or shampoo carpeted areas or rugs throughout the store.
Strip, seal, and wax floors as needed.
Maintain sanitation standards on the sales floor and in the backroom area.
Perform front-end duties as necessary to uphold and maintain the “no noticeable wait” standard.
Communicate floor maintenance needs to store management.
Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
