Responsible for subfloor preparation and installing a range of floor coverings in commercial locations and site conditions. Installations include textile, resilient, wood and tile products.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with floor installation procedures.
  • Good arithmetic skills.
  • Capable of independent and group work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently and maneuver heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work in a hot and varied climate.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects sites to determine the most appropriate flooring solutions.
  • Removes existing flooring and discards this material, if applicable.
  • Prepares the work surface by applying adhesive, grouting, or other appropriate materials.
  • Installs wood, carpeting, tiles, concrete, and other types of flooring.
  • Ensures that the flooring materials are well-positioned, secure, and clean.
  • Educates clients about suitable care for their floors.
