Requirements

  • 5 years in professional flooring installation.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean, reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
  • The position requires repetitive crouching, squatting, standing, walking and lifting.
  • Own all the necessary trade tools and equipment for flooring installation.
  • Must have own insurance (general liability, workers comp, and auto) for all jobs.

  • Prefer experience with residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Install solid and engineered hardwood flooring, including nail-down, glue-down, and floating systems.
  • Perform proper prep including subfloor inspection, moisture checks, leveling, and underlayment as needed.
  • Complete layout, racking, cuts, and detail work with high attention to quality and finish.
  • Install and finish transitions, trim, and stair components (treads, risers, nosing).
  • Perform sanding, staining, and finishing (oil- and water-based systems) to a consistent, high-quality result.
  • Handle repairs, patching, and blending of existing hardwood floors when needed.
  • Manage dust control and containment to maintain a clean jobsite and protect the home.
  • Handle demo and removal of existing flooring as needed.
  • Daily and final cleanup of the job site to company standards.
  • Keep tools organized and clean and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ensure safe, organized, and efficient work practices at all times.
  • Ensure high quality company standards are met every time.
  • Job requires travel throughout the week.
  • Review and understand the scope of work of the project before you get there and familiarize yourself with the project file.
  • Have knowledge of units of measurement and able to complete needed math calculations.
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and polite manner. Work to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with every aspect of the job.
