The Floor Hand, under the direction of the Crew Operator, performs activities and operates hand and power tools to perform maintenance and repairs to oil or gas wells and related equipment. This includes activities associated with the rig-up and rig-down of the workover rig, pulling levers or turning handles to extend hydraulic or screw-type jacks to support and level the rig, its derrick and/or other machinery. The role involves picking up and/or laying down steel production rods, tubing, and casing, disassembling and assembling various types of production equipment, and the repair and maintenance of tools. The Floor Hand uses specialized equipment to guide instruments, tubing, and casing down holes. Responsibilities also include keeping the working environment clean and organized, ensuring all equipment is in proper working order, and performing cleaning, fueling, repairing, and maintaining workover rig equipment, including greasing and changing oils and lubricants on a regularly scheduled basis.
