About The Position

Maintain high standards of cleanliness in accordance with policy and procedures set forth by West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. The major floor cleaning and refinishing functions are performed in accordance with the standards of the Housekeeping Department and in accordance with the hospitals objectives. The role involves using cleaning equipment including buffers, burnishers, wet and dry vacuums, floor cleaning machines and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals, and supplies. This includes extraction and bonnet cleaning of carpets, and following all safety guidelines when performing all cleaning tasks on carpets and hard surface floors. In the event of an uncontrollable emergency, staff shortage, or high census, the Floor Finisher may be directed to assist with laundry duties, which include retrieving dirty linens, washing, drying, folding, and delivering clean linens. Additionally, they may be directed to assist with trash routes in the same emergency situations.

Requirements

• GED or High School Diploma
• One year experience in cleaning or janitorial work.
• Ability to read and follow instructions (verbal and written).
• Understand visual aids.
• Ability to use and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals.
