Floor Care Technician

About The Position

The Floor Care Technician maintains facility floors and common areas to the standards established in the customer’s scope of work. The role includes mopping, stripping, waxing, and polishing hard-surface floors, as well as cleaning carpets. The technician may work at multiple customer locations during the day and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of floor-care experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
Detail-oriented and thorough.
Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

Mop, strip, wax, and polish hard-surface floors and clean carpets.
Operate powered floor-care equipment, such as floor buffers and vacuum cleaners.
Perform general cleaning in building common areas.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance as needed.
Keep the supply room neat and orderly and ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
Perform biohazard cleanup and remove trash as needed.
Move furniture and operate equipment such as golf carts, vacuum cleaners, leaf blowers, and fogging machines.
Help examine the facility for safety hazards and additional service needs, and report deficiencies to a supervisor.
Secure issued keys and security badges.
Maintain customer and company confidentiality.
Maintain professional and courteous relationships with coworkers and customers.
Travel to several customer locations within the day as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
